Features

Filonio styles Redmine’s markup without replacing it: when a feature does not exist in Redmine, it is not made up. Here is what changes.

Navigation

  • Collapsible navigation rail: pinned from 1280 px, compact from 1024 to 1279 px, a drawer from 640 to 1023 px
  • Top bar: breadcrumb, search, notifications, Create menu
  • ⌘K / Ctrl+K palette: issues, wiki, projects, people
  • Single-key shortcuts (c, /, [, G then I / M / P), can be turned off
  • Skip link and fully keyboard-operable menus

Lists and issue page

  • Status, priority and tracker badges, delays in days
  • Columns adapted to the width, wide tables scroll inside their card
  • Issue page: properties column, watchers, progress, readable history
  • Sticky action bar on forms, single column below 640 px

Issue board

  • One column per status, on the current query (same filters as the list)
  • Drag and drop or “Move to…” from the keyboard, following workflow and permissions
  • Swimlanes by assignee, priority, tracker, version or category
  • Collapsed empty columns, sticky headers, 50 cards per column

Mobile and tablet

  • Below 640 px: tab bar, card lists, floating Create button
  • 1024 to 1279 px: compact rail; 640 to 1023 px: drawer rail; sidebar in a drawer

Appearance and settings

  • Light, dark or system

    Each user picks a theme; “System” follows the device. Applied server-side: no flicker.

  • Two densities

    Comfortable or compact: smaller rows, fields and margins for long lists.

  • Your brand

    Brand colour (AA contrast checked and corrected), light and dark rail logo, footer link.

  • Embedded fonts

    Noto Sans ships with the theme, no external request; or the system font, or your own.

  • Styled administration

    Redmine administration pages in the same style; default preferences set for everyone.

  • Third-party plugins

    Dedicated styling for Plio and redmine_more_previews; other plugins get the theme’s colours and components.

Accessibility and trust

  • WCAG 2.2 AA

    4.5:1 contrast, visible focus, 24 px targets (44 px for touch), meaning never carried by colour alone.

  • Keyboard first

    Arrow-key menus, Escape returns focus, drawers keep focus, a board that works without a mouse.

  • Reduced motion

    The device setting is honoured, and anyone can turn animations off.

  • Redmine core untouched

    No Redmine core file modified: upgrades and uninstalling hold no surprises.
